What exactly is a technical textile?

A technical textile is a textile engineered for a function rather than for appearance: it is specified by what it has to withstand — tensile load, temperature, chemistry, abrasion, flame, filtration performance — and proved by a test method. The six groups that cover almost every industrial enquiry are woven fabrics, coated and laminated fabrics, nonwovens, webbing and narrow fabrics, technical yarns, and the machinery that produces them.

Is TT-BC a manufacturer or an agent?

Neither a mill nor a machine park: TT-BC is an independent consulting, trading and machinery partner. We own no production, which is the point — a producer can only recommend its own capability, while we can place the order with whichever mill, coater, converter or machine builder genuinely runs your construction.

Do you sell from stock or do you source to order?

Both routes exist, but the second is the normal one. Technical textiles are specified, not picked: we take the application, define the construction and place it with a producer who runs it. That keeps you out of a compromise article that nearly fits.

What quantities make sense for an enquiry?

Anything from a sampling length to a running series. Small development quantities are part of the job — they are how a series starts. For very small one-off quantities we will say so honestly and point you to the faster route.

Can you cover norms and certifications?

Accepted Answer

We specify against the norm your application requires — for example EN ISO 11612, EN 388 or EN ISO 20471 for protective textiles. The certificates and test reports are issued by the producing mill and the notified test house; we ask for them before the first article rather than after the claim.

Which regions do you work in?

Accepted Answer

Sourcing and supply are worldwide, with the European producer base as the short route and the Turkish and Asian base for volume and cost. The German office is the contact point for the whole chain.

Do you also handle used machinery?

Accepted Answer

Yes — new, used and rebuilt. With used lines the assessment matters more than the price: condition, spare-part availability, control generation, and whether the line can actually run your fabric at your width.

How quickly do I get an answer?

Accepted Answer

An enquiry is answered on a working day. A technically sound offer needs the mill behind it — usually a few working days, longer when a trial run or a sample is part of it. You will get the honest date, not a comfortable one.

Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Development projects are shared on an NDA basis as a matter of course — including when the enquiry names a competitor of your own supplier.

What do you need from me for a first offer?

The application and what the material has to withstand; if you already have a specification, a drawing or a sample of the current article, send it with the enquiry. A photo of the failed part is often worth more than a data sheet.
